TCP opens New Zealand Office

Tanarra Credit Partners (“TCP”) is pleased to announce that it has opened a New Zealand office by hiring highly respected former Head of Corporate Finance at BNZ, Will Carnachan.

Managing Partner Michael Tierney said “The opening of the New Zealand office allows us to fill the gap created by implementation of tighter bank capital and liquidity controls in this market. Following on our successful deployment in Australia, we believe there is a similar need in New Zealand for flexible funding alternatives to support growth in the corporate and private equity sectors.”

Peter Szekely, Managing Partner said “Will’s hiring expands the reach of our regional Asia-Pacific platform as we take advantage of trade and investment flows in this dynamic and high growth region. Our New Zealand presence enhances our sourcing capabilities and will provide our investors with diversified, attractive risk adjusted returns.”

Tanarra Group CEO John Wylie said, “Will brings extensive structuring and transaction experience to TCP, in addition to a deep network of relationships in the New Zealand market, and we are thrilled to have someone of his calibre join the Tanarra team. We are confident he will build the market-leading private credit business in New Zealand for TCP. Together, with Michael, Peter, and Australian Managing Director Graham Lees, I believe we have the leading private credit team in the region.”

TCP has offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Hong Kong and now Auckland. Since deployment began in May 2018, TCP has invested $110m across 7 transactions. TCP continues its fundraising for its benchmark Asia-Pacific Fund I which will invest in senior and mezzanine opportunities across Asia-Pacific.
